Fuel Tank Chameleon
Flexible Power for Serious Pedalboards
Isolated power. Multiple voltages. One rugged T-Rex power supply.
The T-Rex FuelTank Chameleon was designed for pedalboards that demand more than basic 9V power.
With individually isolated outputs, selectable voltage options, and support for both DC and AC pedals, Chameleon gives players the flexibility to power a wide variety of effects from one compact, road-ready unit.
Built for traditional stompboxes, boutique effects, and mixed-voltage pedalboards, Chameleon remains one of the most versatile members of the FuelTank family.
One Supply. Multiple Voltages.
Not every pedal wants the same power.
FuelTank Chameleon lets you configure its outputs for a range of pedal requirements, including:
- 9V DC
- 12V DC
- 18V DC
- 12V AC
That makes it especially useful for boards combining conventional 9V pedals with effects that require higher or less-common operating voltages.
Each output is electrically isolated to help reduce ground-loop noise and unwanted interaction between pedals.
At 9V or 12V DC, each standard output can provide up to 300mA of available current. At 18V DC, available current is reduced to 150mA.
True Isolation
Unlike a conventional daisy-chain supply, FuelTank Chameleon uses isolated power sections so pedals do not simply share one common supply rail.
That matters on larger or more complex boards, where isolation can help reduce unwanted hum, ground-loop problems, and noise caused by incompatible pedals sharing power.
It also makes Chameleon a substantially more flexible choice than a shared-current power supply for players running a mixture of analog and digital effects.
Made for Mixed Pedalboards
FuelTank Chameleon is a strong choice for rigs built around:
- Overdrive and distortion
- Fuzz
- Compressors
- Tuners
- Wah
- Analog modulation
- Delay and reverb
- Boutique pedals
- 12V DC effects
- 18V DC effects
- Compatible 12V AC pedals
Before connecting any pedal, always verify its required voltage, AC/DC format, polarity, and current draw.
Need More Current? Combine Two Outputs.
FuelTank Chameleon gives you another level of flexibility when a pedal needs more current than a single output can provide.
Using the proper T-Rex current-doubling cable, two compatible 300mA outputs can be combined in parallel to provide:
300mA + 300mA = up to 600mA available
The voltage stays the same while the available current budget increases.
That makes Chameleon capable of powering certain higher-current pedals and processors that exceed the capacity of one individual output.
A Real T-Rex Example
The T-Rex SoulMate Acoustic requires:
12V DC / up to 560mA
One Chameleon output provides:
12V / 300mA
Not enough.
Two compatible 12V outputs combined with the proper current-doubling cable provide:
12V / up to 600mA
✓ Enough current for the SoulMate Acoustic.
This is the T-Rex Power Budget concept in action:
Match the voltage.
Match AC or DC.
Match the polarity.
Make sure enough current is available.
Built for the Road
FuelTank Chameleon combines its flexible power architecture with the sturdy metal construction that defined the original T-Rex FuelTank series.
A standard IEC mains connection eliminates the need for a separate external wall adapter, while switchable 115V / 230V operation makes the Chameleon suitable for international touring.

Your Chameleon Power Budget
Each Chameleon output gives you a current budget.
At 9V or 12V DC, a standard output can provide up to:
300mA
If your pedal requires:
70mA
and the output can supply:
300mA
that is perfectly fine.
The pedal draws only the current it needs.
For higher-current devices, two compatible outputs can be combined with the proper current-doubling cable to create a larger available current budget.

The Flexible FuelTank
The original FuelTank helped simplify the pedalboard.
Chameleon took the idea further.
Isolation and selectable voltage options give players the freedom to mix pedals with very different power requirements while keeping the board organized around one dependable supply.
For players building boards with different voltages, isolated power requirements, or occasional higher-current devices, FuelTank Chameleon remains one of the most adaptable power supplies in the T-Rex lineup.
